Mika Zibanejad will be looking to overcome injury and competition to secure a roster spot with the Ottawa Senators out of training camp this fall.
He sustained two concussions last season, with one of them limiting him to 26 games with Djurgardens in the Swedish Elite League and the other occurring at a practice in AHL Binghamton later in the year. Zibanejad said he is healthy now though and he is currently in attendance at the organization's development camp. "The expectations are high this year, every year you come back," he said. "It's fun to be back." Fellow Ottawa prospects Jakob Silfverberg and Mark Stone are expected to push him for an NHL job at the team's main camp. Zibanejad said he will use the summer to prepare.
