Report: NBA to cancel games through Nov. 30

The NBA is expected to announce on Friday the cancellation of games through Nov. 30.
Before anyone starts panicking, consider that more cancellations were virtually inevitable as of last Tuesday, with Dec. 1 the likely start date. Some games can be compressed into fewer months, and the league may seek to extend the season, but it remains to be seen whether an 82-game schedule can be salvaged. As usual, we'll be watching this weekend's negotiations with rapt interest.
