Braves willing to eat money in Lowe trade
Derek Lowe - S - Atlanta Braves
Dec. 9, 2009 - 4:40 PM ET

According to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark, the Braves are telling teams that they're willing to eat some money in order to move Derek Lowe.

The Braves have a surplus of pitching depth and are hoping to deal from that strength this winter for a bat or prospects. Lowe is guaranteed $15 million in each of the next three seasons -- a daunting sum for most clubs -- and he had a 6.65 ERA in his final nine starts of 2009.
