Rockies open to bringing back Marquis
Jason Marquis - S - Colorado Rockies
Dec. 9, 2009 - 4:15 PM ET

According to Steve Henson of Yahoo! Sports, the Rockies are open to bringing back right-hander Jason Marquis "at a reduced number."

It's unlikely to happen, of course, unless his market completely collapses in the coming weeks. Marquis, 31, was 15-13 with a 4.04 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 2009 and should earn a multi-year contract somewhere, perhaps with his hometown Mets. Marquis took home $9.875 million in '09.
