Martin Brodeur will get his first opportunity to break the all-time shutout record on Wednesday against Carolina.
Brodeur earned his 103rd career shutout on Monday, tying Terry Sawchuk for the all-time record. "It's weird," Brodeur said. "I don't think of myself among all the names, the guys who have passed away, the people who are legends: Glenn Hall, Terry Sawchuk, Jacques Plante. These people made history." Brodeur has been making a bit of history of his own. He already has more regular season wins than any goaltender in the history of the game with 575 and he's just five games away from surpassing Patrick Roy's record of 1,029 games played.
