Kampfer earning his stripes at NHL level

The Boston Bruins have been impressed with mobile defenseman Steven Kampfer since his arrival from the minors.
He has been with the team on an emergency recall since Mark Stuart suffered a broken finger, but it looks as though he has earned his spot on the Boston back end even when they return to full strength. The team has been in need of a puck-moving defender since they traded Dennis Wideman as part of the Nathan Horton deal this past off-season. Although he does have offensive potential, Kampfer has collected just two goals and one assist in 12 games this season.
