Strong interest between D'Antoni, Frank in NY
Amare Stoudemire - F/C - New York Knicks
July 18, 2011 - 9:40 AM ET

Alan Hahn of Newsday reports that there could be a mutual interest between Mike D'Antoni and Lawrence Frank as the head coach searches for a lead defensive assistant.

Frank took over for Tom Thibodeau on the Boston bench after Thibs departed to become the head coach of the Bulls. Among other things, Hahn notes that Frank would be amenable to a one-year deal in an effort to keep his head coaching options open and the fact that Frank's family lives in New Jersey. Should Frank land in New York, he'd be asked to lead the defensive attack for a team that didn't have one in 2010-11.
