Claude Giroux powers Flyers to second round
Claude Giroux - C - Philadelphia Flyers
April 22, 2012 - 3:05 PM ET

Claude Giroux was the biggest star in a star-studded showdown, breaking the Philadelphia Flyers' franchise playoff record with 14 points in a single series as the Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 to win the series 4-2.

Giroux scored a goal and two assists with five shots on goal and generally seemed to create offense whenever the puck was on his stick. Daniel Briere scored his fifth goal of the series while Erik Gustafsson, Scott Hartnell and Brayden Schenn also found the net for Philly. It'll be interesting to see what kind of offense the Flyers manage to put together in what almost certainly should be a more "typical" series in round two, though.
