According to Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates have shown interest in free agent right-hander Justin Duchscherer.

Several clubs have contacted the 32-year-old this offseason, including the Red Sox and Rockies. He was excellent in 2008, his first year starting, but missed all of the 2009 season with hip, elbow and clinical depression issues. Teams are banking on him returning to form and his agent, Damon Lapa, is pushing his client as "a happier and healthier person." Duchscherer went 10-8 with a 2.54 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 22 starts in '08.
