Niedermayer will play with Ennis, Vanek
Rob Niedermayer - C - Buffalo Sabres
Dec. 27, 2010 - 2:50 PM ET

Rob Niedermayer is projected to play alongside Tyler Ennis and Thomas Vanek on Monday.

With Derek Roy out for the remainder of the season and Tim Connolly not expected to play, Niedermayer will temporarily assume the role of the Sabres' top center. He should lose that role once Connolly is healthy, but with Roy out, Niedermayer might still end up serving as a top-six forward. Niedermayer has no goals and just seven points in 26 games this season, but the Sabres are very thin up the middle.
