Hemsky out for the season
Ales Hemsky - W - Edmonton Oilers
Nov. 28, 2009 - 8:15 AM ET

Ales Hemsky will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will be out for the remainder of the season.

Hemsky will undergo the surgery in the next few weeks as the area is still inflamed. He will need five-to-six months to recover and therefore miss the season and the Olympics. Hemsky said that he suffered the original injury about six weeks ago. Drop him immediately in all one year leagues, but reserve him in keeper leagues. The injury is a huge blow to the Oilers who lose their best player.
