Pujols begins lifting weights after surgery
Albert Pujols - 1B - St Louis Cardinals
Nov. 24, 2009 - 7:15 PM ET

Albert Pujols, who just nabbed his second MVP award, said that surgery for cleanup of bone spurs on his right elbow and removal of bone chips from the joint was a success.

Pujols has been cleared to lift weights, although albeit cautiously. He expects to be ready for spring training. While the elbow may eventually need reconstruction (read: Tommy John) surgery, that day isn't here yet and he has been playing with the injury for the past six years. Obviously, he's doing just fine with a bum right elbow.
