Kevin Durant scored 35 points on 9-of-20 shooting (1-of-6 3PT, 16-of-18 FTs) with 13 rebounds, one assist, five turnovers, and four steals, while Russell Westbrook added 40 points on 15-of-33 shooting (0-for-2 3PT, 10-of-11 FTs) with five rebounds, five assists, three turnovers, three steals, and two blocks in Monday's triple-overtime win.
We're seeing a Kobe-Shaq style situation emerge in OKC as they struggle, and if you pick a side you're probably wrong, because they're both at fault and the biggest problem is Scott Brooks -- who is encouraging Westbrook to shoot with no conscience. Nobody is denying their talent, but their style of play is not governed right now, so Durant stands around in preparation for an eventual Westbrook drive, doing nothing to get open. And since Westbrook can shake just about anybody, he's dominating the touches. Factor in their shot selection, and they look bad right now for all of their talent and success.
