Whitney finally gets his first of the season

Ryan Whitney was finally credited with his first goal of the season on Wednesday.

Whitney scored on Tuesday but the official scorers gave the goal later in the game to Dustin Penner. Whitney, who had 24 assists with nary a goal before Tuesday's game, was finally given credit for the goal on Wednesday when the Oilers PR staff petitioned the NHL. Whitney is having an outstanding season with 25 points, 33 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating for the lowly Oilers.
