Hornets intent on defensive players

As they survey the free agent market the Hornets are placing an emphasis on defense, which may discourage them from pursuing ex-Hornet Marcus Thornton.
Monty Williams could have been speaking specifically about Thornton when he used this odd and excellent mixed-metaphor on Friday: "There is no need in having a guy who can flat-out knock down shots, but he couldn't guard a bike if he was riding it." The Kings have already expressed an interest in re-signing Thornton, who excelled when given a starting gig in Sacramento.
