Sabres will sit Butler for 2nd straight game

Chris Butler will be a healthy scratch for a second straight game on Thursday night.
He watched Tuesday's contest from the press box to allow captain Craig Rivet to return to the lineup for the first time in a month. Rivet responded with a goal and an assist and will play alongside Mike Weber again. "We gave Chris a real good look," coach Lindy Ruff said. "We tried to stick with him, build some confidence. I didn't like his game [Saturday] in Tampa. I met with him and just decided it was time [for Rivet]."
