Kobe Bryant and Lakers down 0-3 to Mavs
Kobe Bryant - G - Los Angeles Lakers
May 7, 2011 - 12:50 AM ET

Kobe Bryant scored 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting (0-for-3 from downtown, 1-of-1 from the foul line) with four rebounds, six assists, and a steal as the Lakers lost to the Mavs on Friday and are now in an 0-3 hole in the series.

All good things must come to an end, and now there is really no time for them to turn on a switch -- if indeed that switch exists. As for Kobe, whether it's related to his ankle or not, he has not penetrated on a defense that theoretically he should have his way with -- taking just 3-of-65 FGs at or near the rim. He also exhibited poor shot selection and leadership down the stretch, which is the key difference between him and the man he chases, Michael Jordan.
