Josh Smith was booed before and after each long distance shot attempt in Friday's blowout loss to the Bulls, and closed the evening with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 13 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and four blocks.
His schizophrenic night was startlingly obvious. Outside of 16 feet he went 0-for-6 as his home crowd let their fury known, and despite being 0-for-17 from that distance for the series, Smith could not have cared less. Likewise, when he drove to the hoop he missed just one shot, made plays, and energized his team. His effort was still lacking, but his boards and blocks capped off a frustrating night for Hawks fans. Joe Johnson held the ball incessantly and hit just 4-of-12 shots for 10 points.
