Delgado (hip) to play winter ball in December

Carlos Delgado (hip) will begin playing winter ball in Puerto Rico in mid-December to audition for major league teams.
"There are some teams interested in me," Delgado said. "The Mets have been in touch. Everybody wants to see me play. If I was a team, I'd rather see me play, too." The Mets are keeping their options open at first base, but Delgado will certainly be one of the them. General manager Omar Minaya plans to travel to Puerto Rico to watch Delgado next month.
