Ales Kotalik was back in the Calgary lineup on Tuesday night against the Blue Jackets after being a healthy scratch the night before in Monday's loss to Minnesota.
He had two great opportunities to score his first goal of the season in the contest, but came up empty. "Yeah, I don't know what to call it," said Kotalik. "When you have an open net and you've got everything on the shot and the stick breaks. Then you get a breakaway whistled down? Those kinds of things . . . it happens. I don't know. It doesn't matter. We have to move forward." His breakaway was blown dead because a fight between Robyn Regehr and Columbus winger Tom Sestito had started behind the play. Kotalik had four shots in 11:34 of ice time in the game, but he still doesn't have a point after eight games this season.
