Getzlaf tries to fire up team with fisticuffs

Ryan Getzlaf tried to get his Anaheim teammates going on Tuesday night by dropping the gloves with Buffalo grinder Cody McCormick one second into the second period.
"That's all part of the motivation thing and trying to get involved in the game," Getzlaf said. "I thought it relatively worked, for a couple of minutes anyway. We just weren't able to get back from the deficit that we were at." The Ducks were down 3-0 after the first period and trailed by four heading into the third stanza. They were wrapping up a stretch of playing five times in seven days and didn't have much left in the tank for Tuesday night. Getzlaf also had an assist in the Ducks' 5-2 loss to the Sabres.
