Amare Stoudemire scored seven points on 2-of-8 shooting with three rebounds and one assist as he struggled with a back injury, and Carmelo Anthony hit just 4-of-16 shots from the field for 15 points with 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block, and five turnovers as the Knicks lost Game 3 to the Celtics by the score of 113-96 on Friday.
STAT tweaked his back showing off on a dunk before Game 2, and while it's tough to hold that against him, you can bet that much of New York will. While Amare has improved his defense and attitude in some facets, his new competition for glory and fame in Anthony is much further behind. The pair were embarrassingly bad defensively tonight, and unless both commit to learning that end of the court, and unless Melo stops playing 'hero-ball' -- Round 1 exits will be the norm.
