Rajon Rondo posted a massive triple-double in the Celtics' Game 3 win over the Knicks on Friday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting (no threes) with 11 rebounds, a Celtics playoff-record 20 assists, and two steals as Boston now owns a 3-0 series lead.
The last player to go for 20 assists in a playoff game was Magic Johnson in the 1991 Finals, and owning a Boston postseason record puts him in some elite company. Unless the expected Round 2 opponent Miami Heat commit Dwyane Wade or LeBron James to covering him, he should have another monster series. Kevin Garnett added nine points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the win.
