Sabres lack scoring depth
Thomas Vanek - W - Buffalo Sabres
Dec. 20, 2010 - 1:50 PM ET

The trio of Thomas Vanek, Derek Roy and Drew Stafford have collected 31 of Buffalo's 81 goals this season.

They combine to make up 38.3 percent of the goal production for the team and if they don't find the back of the net then the team lacks the sufficient depth to record wins. Vanek leads the team with 13 markers after 33 games, while Roy has 10 and Stafford has eight following 18 appearances. The Sabres will need to find some secondary scoring if they want to climb back into playoff contention.
