Kobe Bryant injures neck to end first half
Kobe Bryant - G - Los Angeles Lakers
April 17, 2011 - 4:50 PM ET

Kobe Bryant hit a fadeaway 16-footer with 10 seconds left in the first half on Sunday, but hit his neck and head on the seat of a courtside chair, causing him to lay motionless on the floor for about a minute before leaving under his own power.

It appears he's OK and a Ron Artest 44-footer at the buzzer pulled the sluggish Lakers to within eight points at halftime. We're guessing Kobe's fine, but we'll update his status if he doesn't start the second half. He's fully expected to start the second half despite a neck bruise.
