NEW YORK (AP) -The NBA Development League playoffs will expand to three rounds of three-game series this season.

Eight teams will make the postseason: the winners of the Eastern and Western Divisions, plus the teams with the next six best records in the regular season. The regular season ends April 3.

The D-League will again allow the three highest-seeded teams to select their first-round opponents, with the No. 1 team having the first pick of teams seeded 5-8. The No. 4 seed will play the team that remains.
