Alex Ovechkin picked up his second career fighting major in Sunday's embarrassing 7-0 loss to the Rangers.
He dropped the gloves with New York forward Brandon Dubinsky midway through the second period after throwing a hit on Dan Girardi. "I didn't think he'd drop the gloves so fast. I really respect the way [Ovechkin] plays and obviously his skill level," Dubinsky said. "At the same time, I saw one of my teammates on the ice and wanted to protect him." Ovechkin finished the game with a minus-1 rating and four shots on goal in 16 minutes of ice time.
