Jimmy Howard was exceptional in the Red Wings victory over Montreal on Friday night, stopping 36 of the 38 shots directed at him.
The Canadiens brought a barrage of shots Howard's way in the third period, outshooting the Wings by a 20-3 margin in the final frame, but the Detroit netminder stood tall. With the win, Howard improves to 16-4-2 on the season with a .916 save percentage and a 2.51 GAA.
