Naslund to have number retired on Saturday
Markus Naslund - W - New York Rangers
Dec. 10, 2010 - 9:50 AM ET

Markus Naslund will have his number 19 retired by the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

It is quite an honor for Naslund who had 346 goals and 410 assists in 884 games for Vancouver. Former linemate Brendan Morrison, now with Calgary, has the night off and is making his way to Vancouver to attend the ceremony. "It's a very special night," Morrison said. "For me, to have the chance to be there and feel the emotion in the rink is something I'm going to remember for the rest of my life. I can tell my kids whenever we go to the rink again and his number is hanging up there that dad actually played with that guy. We had a lot of big years." The other member of the West Coast Express line, Todd Bertuzzi, can't make it as his Red Wings play New Jersey on Saturday. Congratulations to Naslund on the honor.
