She Be Wild wins BC Juvenile Fillies

ARCADIA, Calif. - She Be Wild has charged along the rail to win the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies by three-quarters of a length.

Ridden by Julien Leparoux, She Be Wild covered 1 1-16 miles in 1:43.80 Friday at Santa Anita and paid $16.80, $9 and $5. At 7-1 odds, She Be Wild pulled off the third consecutive upset on the first day of the world championships.

Beautician returned $9.40 and $6, while Blind Luck was another head back in third and paid $3 to show as the 7-2 wagering favorite.

She Be Wild improved to 4 for 5 on synthetic surfaces.

It was trainer Wayne Catalano's second career Breeders' Cup victory, and the third for Leparoux.

Biofuel, owned by former Kentucky governor Brereton Jones, finished fourth in the field of 12.
