Sharks will go with Niittymaki v. former team

Antero Niittymaki will get the nod against the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night.
"Some would say, 'Hey, you know what? You've got the hot goalie who just won in Detroit.' But so far this year we've had a good response from our team and our goaltender when they've played against their former teammates," coach Todd McLellan said. "I think he's been looking forward to this and we've been a team that's been externally motivated and maybe this will get them going." The Sharks have had success this year by matching their players against their ex-teammates -- case in point Antti Niemi against Chicago and Dany Heatley versus Ottawa -- so the move makes sense from that point of view. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
