Salmela likely going to AHL for conditioning

Anssi Salmela (knee) has been cleared to return to game action, but will likely be assigned to the minors on a conditioning assignment.
The New Jersey rearguard underwent surgery in late May to repair a torn ACL and a torn meniscus in his right knee. "We're going to make a decision to get him to play some games," GM Lou Lamoriello said. "He's been battling quite a bit (in practice). He's been getting the contact. The doctors said he's probably ready to get in a game. A game is different than practice."
