Andreas Nodl was on the power play unit in practice on Tuesday, alongside Mike Richards and Jeff Carter.
Nodl picked up his third power play goal of the season on Sunday and coach Peter Laviolette said that he needs to play Nodl more with the man-advantage. Nodl got a break on Tuesday as Ville Leino, the usual member of the first power play, was ill with flu-like symptoms. "I used him in key situations last year, in the big games in the playoffs, with 3 or 4 minutes left. I counted on him to do the right things with the puck, and he did," Laviolette said. "That was the real turning point for me, in our relationship. You've got to remember, he was an offensive guy in college. I think playing with Mike Richards has really help, Mike does a really good job of making everyone better around him." Nodl is worth picking up in deeper pools as he has seven goals and 12 points in 19 games with a plus-ten rating.
