DeRosa undergoes surgery on wrist
Mark DeRosa - 3B - St Louis Cardinals
Oct. 29, 2009 - 8:55 AM ET
Mark DeRosa underwent surgery to repair a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist on Monday.

The impending free agent should be able to resume baseball activities in time for spring training. He injured the wrist not long after being acquired from the Indians, batting just .228/.291/.405 with 10 home runs and 28 RBI in 237 at-bats with St. Louis. General manager John Mozeliak has said that the Cardinals would like to give David Freese a shot at the third base job during spring training, minimizing the chance that DeRosa will return.
