Backstrom lit up again as Wild fall to Flyers
Niklas Backstrom - G - Minnesota Wild
Nov. 24, 2010 - 11:55 PM ET

Niklas Backstrom surrendered six goals on 28 shots in the Wild's 6-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

Backstrom is struggling mightily right now. He has allowed 11 goals in his last two games. Fortunately for Backstrom, he can't shoulder all of the blame for his team's recent struggles. The Wild offense continues to be inept, scoring only twice in the last two games. It's going to be difficult for any goaltender to win hockey games when the players in front of him can't seem to put the puck in the net. Although his record dropped to 8-6-2 on the year, Backstrom's peripherals are actually pretty good. He is sporting a 2.36 goals-against average to go along with a .924 save percentage.
