Every misses cut, falls $1,760 shy of status
April 29, 2011 - 7:55 PM ET

Matt Every shot 4-over-par 75-73=148 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, and will miss the cut.

An especially disappointing day. Teeing it up via his last start on a Minor Medical Extension, all Every needed to do was make the cut and complete the tournament to secure conditional status at worst. That would have granted him another 8-10 starts over the remainder of the year. Instead, he falls $1,760 short of that secondary goal. For the record, he finished $225,008 of meeting the primary term of his medical extension to get elevated to the Major Medical category. As a non-winner, he's limited to seven sponsor exemptions, and will be relegated to the Nationwide Tour for the rest of 2011.
