Ridings hobbles in return, then finds groove

Tag Ridings posted a 2-under-par 39-31=70 in his opening round of the Valero Texas Open.
We had Ridings in our crosshairs today since he withdrew following his opening-round 78 in Houston two weeks ago. Whatever the cause, he quiet the skeptics today with that blistering inward nine during which he buried five birdies. The highlight of the bunch was also the catalyst, as his first of the quintet disappeared from 25'10" at the par-5 second hole. Overall, he hit 11 greens and needed just 24 putts.
