Tuomo Ruutu might re-sign with the Hurricanes
Tuomo Ruutu - C - Carolina Hurricanes
Feb. 10, 2012 - 10:20 AM ET

The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to come to a decision about Tuomo Ruutu's future with the franchise next week.

Ruutu, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, has expressed a desire to stay with the Hurricanes, so we wouldn't rule out the possibility of him signing an extension in the not too distant future. Ruutu's name has come up in trade rumors and it seems likely that he will be dealt if he's not re-signed. The Hurricanes have already removed Tim Gleason from the trade market by inking him to a four-year extension on Jan. 30.
