TSN's Pierre Lebrun is reporting that the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins are interested in acquiring Ray Whitney before the February 27 trade deadline.
Whitney will become a UFA on July 1 and with the Coyotes teetering on whether to make a playoff charge or throw in the towel, the 39-year-old veteran is near or at the top of many team's trade wishes as he still is a prolific scorer. Whitney has a limited no-trade contract and will provide the Coyotes eight teams that he is willing to go to if they decide to trade him. Stay tuned.
