Edwards, Johnson set for Kansas showdown

With great track records, both drivers should contend for the checkered flag

Inspired by a "banzai move" he had executed on a video game, Carl Edwards tried to pass Jimmie Johnson on the last lap of last year's Kansas race by hitting the wall and using that momentum to sling him into first place. The gamble left him in second.

11 to 20
No. 39
Ryan Newman: Newman's past trips to Kansas define hit-or-miss. He has three top-two finishes in eight career starts and five 15th or worse results at the track. We think he will be back inside the top 15.
No. 18 Kyle Busch: Kansas has never been one of Rowdy's better tracks, but he is only racing for wins now. Look for him to take some unnecessary chances that will either help or hurt your fantasy team.
No. 17 Matt Kenseth: Kenseth had one of the top cars at Kansas last season, but he has averaged just a 20th-place finish at Kansas during his career. There are better options than the No. 17 team.
No. 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Junior has had four top-10 finishes in eight career starts at Kansas. He won't make it five top 10's this weekend.
No. 11 Denny Hamlin: Hamlin has finished 11th, 29th, 18th and 32nd at Kansas during his career. This is not a terrific weekend to use the No. 11.
No. 9 Kasey Kahne: Kahne has led 50 laps in five career starts at Kansas. He is an interesting pick this weekend.
No. 83 Brian Vickers: Vickers has finished in the top 20 in all four of his career starts at Kansas. He is a safe pick.
No. 29 Kevin Harvick: Harvick has notched back-to-back sixth place finishes at Kansas last year. He should just miss cracking the top 10 this weekend.
No. 31 Jeff Burton: Burton has cracked the top 10 just twice in his career at Kansas. There are far better options this weekend.
No. 00 David Reutimann: Reutimann drove a smart race at Kansas last year. He is a great low-risk option as a fourth driver in most fantasy leagues.

21 to 30
No. 19
Elliott Sadler: Sadler has qualified well the last six races at Kansas. He should just miss cracking the top 20 this weekend.
No. 26 Jamie McMurray: McMurray has been very average the past four races at Kansas. We predict more of the same from him.
No. 1 Martin Truex Jr.: Truex Jr. has been very inconsistent in his first two career starts at Kansas. He is a risky pick this weekend.
No. 20 Joey Logano: Logano is reportedly okay after his insane crash at Dover, but we are hesitant to take the rookie after such a scary tumble.
No. 25 Brad Keselowski: Keselowski in the No. 25 car is hard to resist. Use him as a fifth driver if you have a spot.
No. 47 Marcos Ambrose: Ambrose continues to bring fast cars to the track. He should be a top-25 finisher once again this weekend.
No. 6 David Ragan: Ragan has cracked the top 20 in both of his career starts at Kansas. He is worth using this weekend as a fifth driver in deep leagues.
No. 44 A.J. Allmendinger: A.J. finished ninth at Kansas last year. This is a good weekend to sneak The Dinger onto your roster.
No. 77 Sam Hornish Jr.: Hornish Jr. should just miss cracking the top 25 this weekend.
No. 12 David Stremme: Stremme hasn't been terrible at Kansas during his career.

31 to 35
No. 55
Michael Waltrip: Waltrip has been terrible at Kansas the past four races. He isn't an option.
No. 71 Bobby Labonte: Labonte's best career finish at Kansas is 16th. He won't come near that this weekend.
No. 98 Paul Menard: Menard will just miss finishing inside the top 30.
No. 43 Reed Sorenson: Sorenson will be outside the top 30 again this weekend.
No. 7 Robby Gordon: Gordon has had a few top 20 finishes at Kansas during his career, but we don't see him finishing strong this weekend.
