The opening round of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship is scheduled to resume at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Given the photos that media and players have posted on Twitter, this is a bit of a surprise. Obviously, the course is playable, but PGATOUR.com's Brian Wacker reported that the main scoreboard was destroyed, 17 trees were uprooted and two television towers were blown over. One camera wound up submerged in a pond after the tower on which it was sitting was knocked down. Peak winds gusts were measured at 55 mph. Defending champion, Ernie Els, limps into the week on the heels of a T70 at the Honda. He finished T67 at last year's Honda before posting a four-stroke victory at Doral. After today's delay, he's now slated to tee off at 3:29 p.m. on the first hole.
