So we wanted to talk with the 25-year-old from Philomath, Ore. before he gets all “Don’t you know who I am?”
With the Giants taking on the Cowboys on NBC’s Sunday Night Football this week, another chunk of Boss’ remaining anonymity figures to be chipped away.
Q: First off, what’s up with the twitter account? You haven’t put anything up since August 23. The NFL says you can’t post 90 minutes before kickoff, not 90 days.
A: I been a little slow on that. I started off doing all right but have kinda fallen off. I guess it was fun for a little bit then, it was just one of those things, it didn’t really keep me interested. I read what other people are doing but I don’t update myself enough.
Q: Well, you did post teammate Chris Snee turned out in an authentic Bossman t-shirt.
A: He got that on my Web site. He thought he was pretty clever, just ordering it and showing up on the first day of training camp wearing it.
Q: You do a workout where you push a 60-pound sled 30 yards. And you do it 50 times. Is that fun?
A: It’s a drill my trainer back home, Dan McLaughlin at Performance Training Center, put together. We’re trying to really simulate a football game. We start at about 30 pounds and then keep adding weight. We take 30 to 40 seconds between each rep and we do each rep for about five seconds which is usually how long a play lasts. It takes about 30 minutes to do. I swear by that workout to get me in shape for camp.
Q: When was the last time a workout caused you to throw up?
A: It wasn’t too long ago. My first workout back with my trainer in Oregon after minicamp, actually. He trains at a whole different level. If you haven’t been doing it for a while, you’re gonna pay the price. My first day back with him, he made me puke. I hid it though. I went outside, puked and came back like nothing happened. I think I had breakfast maybe a little too close to the workout. My breakfast and some supplements that came right up.

Q: What’s your most memorable game in any sport? ![]()
Buffalo's Dick Jauron was the first coach fired this season. Who's next? Here’s your chance to rank all the NFL coaches.
A: It’s gotta be winning the state championship in basketball my senior year in high school. I was the center for our team and we basically started playing together when we were barely able to dribble a basketball. My best friend, Logan Garvin, was our point guard. His dad (Dave Garvin) was our head coach. We started talking about winning a state championship when we started playing. For that to actually happen was pretty neat. We had the whole town of Philomath, Ore., there. We played the game at Oregon State in Corvallis. Ended up winning in overtime. It was pretty neat.
Q: When did you first dunk?
A: I think it was my sophomore year of high school. That’s when I hit my growth spurt and started growing into my lanky frame.
Q: Do you have any phobias?
A: I guess fear of failure. Not succeeding at what I’m doing. That’s why I try to prepare myself as best I can for everything. I take pride in all my preparation — mentally and physically. Fear of failure drives me to work hard in everything I do.
Q: Except twitter?
A: Except twitter.
Q: What’s the strangest thing you’ve signed?
A: I always find it funny when people ask us to sign baseballs. I find that kind of amusing.

Q: What’s your favorite New York City restaurant? ![]()
A boxing champ celebrates, a kicker regrets, fans mourn a hero, and much more.
A: Probably Tao. Whenever I have friends that come into town, I take them there. I know the chef and he takes great care of us. He’s a big Giants fan. But it’s really a fun atmosphere.
Q: I found an interview with you in which you told Scout.com you were flattered that Chase Coffman knew who you were. You’re not really diving into this celebrity thing with both feet, are you?
A: Yeah, you could say that. It’s all pretty new and different to me. Coming from a small town a small college and then being here in New York, being recognized, it’s a lot different. For someone like Chase to come out and say that he looked up to me was pretty cool.
Q: So you couldn’t take being Eli Manning?
A: That would be pretty tough. I don’t know if I could do that. I’ve been out with him and it’s a pretty constant flow of people wanting to come up and talk to him. But he’s making $97 million now so he can adjust.
