Edwards will be tough to beat in Atlanta

Johnson, the Busch brothers also should contend for the top spot on Sunday

With three career wins and eight top-seven finishes in his 10 starts in Atlanta, Carl Edwards should be considered the favorite in the Pep Boys 500.

11 to 20
No. 11
Denny Hamlin: Hamlin has just two top-10 finishes in nine career starts at Atlanta. He should finish in the top 15, but we don't see a top-10 finish for the No. 11 team.
No. 16 Greg Biffle: Biffle has been terrible in three of the last five Atlanta races and great in the other two. His inconsistency at the track bumps him just outside our top 10 this time around.
No. 83 Brian Vickers: Vickers has been great in three of the past four Atlanta races. He is worth using again this weekend.
No. 31 Jeff Burton: Burton has driven well at Atlanta since 2004. He should have the No. 31 car in the top 15 once again.
No. 9 Kasey Kahne: Kahne has four top-five finishes in 11 career races at Atlanta, but he also has five 28th or worse finishes. His inconsistency at the track makes him a tough driver to predict this weekend.
No. 29 Kevin Harvick: Harvick seemed to figure Atlanta out the past three races. Look for him to stay with a similar setup, and another top-20 finish is expected.
No. 39 Ryan Newman: Newman is the maestro of qualifying at Atlanta. In the 15 races he has run at the speedway, he has started from the pole seven times. We like him to challenge for the pole, and he should finish inside the top 20.
No. 44 A.J. Allmendinger: Allmendinger has cracked the top 17 in each of his career Atlanta starts. He is a nice sleeper pick this weekend.
No. 42 Juan Pablo Montoya: Montoya has had one good race, one mediocre race and three bad races at Atlanta during his career. This is a rare weekend we don't highly recommend J.P.
No. 26 Jamie McMurray: McMurray has averaged a 20th-place finish in 13 career starts at Atlanta. We see him taking the checkers right around there again.

21 to 30
No. 00
David Reutimann: Reutimann has never cracked the top 15 at Atlanta, but he needs a very strong finish to keep his slight playoff hopes alive. Look for the No. 00 to take some chances and be a high-risk/high-reward driver on Sunday.
No. 07 Casey Mears: Mears averages a 21st-place finish at Atlanta during his career. We feel he will finish right about there this weekend.
No. 47 Marcos Ambrose: The Tasmanian Devil will have the No. 47 back inside the top 25.
No. 1 Martin Truex Jr.: Truex is usually mediocre at Atlanta. We don't see a top-20 finish for him on Sunday.
No. 6 David Ragan: The Georgia native should just barely be a top-25 finisher.
No. 19 Elliott Sadler: Sadler has never been great at Atlanta, but he will be good enough this weekend to crack the top 30.
No. 20 Joey Logano: Logano, like most rookies, is struggling with week to week consistency. Wait until 2010 to use him in anything but the deepest fantasy leagues.
No. 77 Sam Hornish Jr.: Hornish Jr. has struggled at Atlanta, but his potential for a top 20 finish makes him a very good value pick.
No. 55 Michael Waltrip: If you are looking for a driver who will finish between 25th and 35th, Waltrip is your man.
No. 43 Reed Sorenson: Sorenson was awesome at ATL in 2007, but has been terrible at the track ever since. He is once again a risky pick.

31 to 35
No. 12
David Stremme: Stremme has averaged a 30th place finish at Atlanta during his career. There are much better options on Sunday.
No. 7 Robby Gordon: Atlanta has never been one of Gordon's better tracks, but he should be good enough to finish in the top 35.
No. 98 Paul Menard: Menard hasn't been terrible in the past at Atlanta, but we don't like his chances this weekend.
No. 21 Bill Elliott: If you are looking for an extreme bargain driver this weekend, Awesome Bill from Dawsonville is your man. Elliott is a five-time winner at Atlanta and knows the track better than any driver in the race.
No. 82 Scott Speed: Speed isn't much of an option, but he will have no problem getting his car into the race.
