Furyk, a pseudo-single, finishes two back
Jan. 6, 2011 - 10:45 PM ET

Jim Furyk shot a 5-under-par 32-36=68 in the opening round of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, finishing two strokes back of the overnight co-leaders.

Furyk circled seven birdies at Kapalua today, five of which were inside five feet. His conversion of 15'8" at the ninth hole was the highlight. He played with the head pro of the Plantation Course, Scott Carroll, who served as a marker. Carroll spelled the injured Geoff Ogilvy, who withdrew hours before his tee due to the injury on his right index finger.
