Parnevik's surgery was performed by Dr. Philippon of the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Philippon performed a similar surgery on Parnevik's left hip in 2000. (On July 26, we erroneously relayed that Dr. Richard Steadman was the doctor for each procedure.) "The surgery Jesper underwent is one that I've personally performed on a number of other professional golfers, and I'm confident he will make a full recovery," said Dr. Philippon. "I'm very pleased with how the surgery went." Parnevik will rehab for the remainder of the year, putting off golf until 2010. He will be eligible for a non-exempt Major Medical Extension or he could burn a one-time career earnings exemption, assuming he remains inside the top-50 (he's currently 45th).
