Magic owner Richard DeVos Sr. said he won't "give up" on trying to sign Dwight Howard to a long-term deal.
Howard is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and has a trade demand on the table. "We like to think we're making headway," DeVos said of talks with Howard and his representatives. "But I don't know. He probably won't know until the end and I won't either." The Howard rumors will start to heat up in a big way after the Feb. 26 All-Star game in Orlando.

Hedo Turkoglu hit just 1-of-6 shots for three points and had five fouls in Wednesday's win over the Heat.
He's hit just 3-of-23 shots over his last three games, but this looks like more of a slump than an injury. He did tweak a knee on Saturday, but has played through it. He's too good to cut, but benching him might make sense until he figures this out.
Ryan Anderson got hot early on Wednesday, hitting five 3-pointers on his way to 27 points and 11 rebounds on 8-of-19 shooting.
He didn't miss much early, but cooled off in the second half. His dream season continues, and he should be in all starting lineups going forward. And if you're wondering if he's a sell-high candidate, it sure doesn't look that way since he's been doing this all season.
The Lakers will reportedly "take a look" at Gilbert Arenas when the free agent works out in Los Angeles later this week.
There's no indication that the Lakers are seriously interested in signing Arenas, but they have nothing to lose by attending a local workout. Arenas averaged just 8.0 points in 49 games for Orlando last year, and as Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports, "there are doubts among NBA executives about whether he has anything left."
Jason Richardson scored 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting (including three treys) with one rebound, three assists, and one steal over 37 minutes in the Magic's 107-102 overtime loss to the Clippers on Monday.
Richardson (knee) has scored 17 or more points in each of the three games he has played since getting back on the floor, and while we're wondering how long he can keep this up after a spotty start -- owners should be riding him while he's hot.

Jameer Nelson (concussion) returned to action on Monday after a five-game absence, scoring 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and 12 assists in 36 minutes.
We've surmised in a few places that the time off could have been good for Nelson to get his head right with all the drama in Orlando, not to mention his ailing knee and other dings. We can't tell you that he's going to keep up this level of play, but we can say for sure that he's worth a long look in 12-team formats.

Hedo Turkoglu went hitless on six shot attempts in Monday's overtime loss, finishing with zero points, two rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 25 minutes.
Turkoglu briefly left Saturday's game due to a knee injury, and with no postgame report we can only guess that something wasn't right. We're going to put him on the injury list in advance of Wednesday's game until we get an explanation.
