Donald Driver - WR - Green Bay Packers

Donald Driver is willing to take a pay-cut to remain with the Packers.

"What I'm pushing for is for my legacy to stay around in the state of Wisconsin and around the world forever," Driver said Friday. "So the money's not a big issue." Driver sounds resigned to the fact that his $2.2 million roster bonus will be declined, but will also likely have to be amenable to slashing his 2012 salary of $2.6 million to remain in Green Bay. As deep as any team in the league at receiver, it's possible the Pack won't want the 37-year-old Driver back at any price.

Derek Sherrod - T - Green Bay Packers

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, "there's no guarantee" Packers OT Derek Sherrod (broken leg) will be able to play in 2012.

The Packers' 2011 first-round pick underwent emergency surgery after breaking his right tibia and fibula in Week 15. Sherrod's health coupled with Marshall Newhouse's inconsistent play could compel the Packers to retain aging and injury-prone LT Chad Clifton.

Marshall Newhouse - T - Green Bay Packers

Packers OT Marshall Newhouse allowed a team-high 10.5 sacks and 41.5 pressures in 2011.

A fifth-round pick in 2010, Newhouse made 10 starts at left tackle and three at right tackle after not appearing in a game as a rookie. Although he did play better down the stretch, Newhouse's struggles could complicate the Packers' thinking on LT Chad Clifton, who is currently set to make $5.5 million during his age-36 season in 2012. If Clifton is released and Green Bay isn't ready to turn to Newhouse, RT Bryan Bulaga would likely be shifted to the blindside.

Erik Walden - LB - Green Bay Packers

Free agent OLB Erik Walden pleaded no contest Friday to a domestic disturbance charge stemming from a December incident.

Walden was initially arrested on a felony charge, but it was later downgraded to a misdemeanor. The arrest is going to sink his free agent value, not that he had much. A 'tweener type best suited to play on special teams, Walden managed just three sacks in 15 starts despite seeing single blocks through 2011. Outside linebacker is Green Bay's biggest need area this offseason.

Packers Offense - TM - Green Bay Packers

The Packers have blocked TEs coach Ben McAdoo from interviewing for the Bucs' offensive coordinator job.

The Pack previously blocked McAdoo from interviewing with the Dolphins. McAdoo is also the second coordinator candidate the Bucs have been denied permission to interview after the Cardinals elected not to let WRs coach John McNulty talk to his former boss Greg Schiano. McAdoo was recently passed over for the Packers' offensive coordinator job by QBs coach Tom Clements.

Matt Flynn - QB - Green Bay Packers

According to the Miami Herald, free agent Matt Flynn will be the Dolphins' No. 2 option if they fail to land Peyton Manning this offseason.

The Dolphins reportedly envision Manning as their Joe Montana, capable of "winning games, selling tickets, and becoming relevant again." Flynn would be a more proactive acquisition if the Fins were focusing on the long term, but owner Stephen Ross is hell-bent on the immediacy of Manning. If Ross' "infatuation" with pursuing Manning ends anything like his 2011 pursuit of Jim Harbaugh, the Dolphins could conceivably miss out on Flynn, too.

Matt Flynn - QB - Green Bay Packers

Matt Williamson of ESPN Scouts Inc. is concerned about free agent Matt Flynn as a Kevin Kolb-type quarterback who may only fit one system.

Many NFL front-office execs likely share the concern. "Flynn worries me," Williamson said. "... Those guys like Kevin Kolb scare me. They look good in a really small sample size in good offenses. In terms of physical skills, there's a reason Flynn was a seventh-round pick. He's really cerebral, moves well, does everything well pre-snap. But he's not overwhelming physically. He will be an average starter who maybe goes to a Pro Bowl once."
