Tanner Glass - W - Winnipeg Jets

Former Vancouver Canuck Tanner Glass, was among the lowest group in the NHL last season in terms of taking the puck away from opponents.

Given that Glass's main job as a fourth-liner was to put pressure on opponents in the hopes of having them cough up the puck, an average of 1.56 takeaways per 60 minutes of ice time is unacceptable.

The Winnipeg Jets have made 39 year-old Pascal Vincent the team's newest assistant coach.

Despite his young age, Vincent has a wealth of experience coaching in the QMJHL as well as with the Canadian National Junior Team. His responsibilities with the Jets will make him responsible for forwards and the power play."It's certainly a privilege to work with great quality people," Vincent said. "Obviously it's a dream coming true for a coach or a player when you reach the best league in the world, it's always very special."

The Winnipeg Jets have unveiled their logo and team colors.

The team was planning a press conference for Monday to make an official announcement, but once a t-shirt with the new logo began making the rounds on the internet the team pushed it up to Friday. The new logo depicts a classic looking airplane, similar to that of the Royal Canadian Air Force, which was the intent of the team. "We knew we were going with the Jets when we knew we could align ourselves to that look or feel," said Jets governor and True North chairman Mark Chipman.

Arturs Kulda - D - Atlanta Thrashers

Arturs Kulda has agreed to terms with the Winnipeg Jets.

Kulda had 17 points and 73 penalty minutes in 69 AHL contests last season. He also spent two minutes in the sin bin over the course of two NHL games in 2010-11.

Riley Holzapfel - C - Atlanta Thrashers

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed Riley Holzapfel.

Holzapfel had 27 points and 20 penalty minutes in 68 games with the AHL Chicago Wolves last season. He's projected to start the 2011-12 season in the minors.

Spencer Machacek - W - Atlanta Thrashers

Spencer Machacek has agreed to terms with the Winnipeg Jets.

Machacek was great at the AHL level last season, scoring 21 goals and 53 points in 67 contests. However, he had no points and a minus-two rating in 10 games with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11.

Kenndal McArdle - W - Atlanta Thrashers

Kenndal McArdle has re-signed with the Winnipeg Jets.

The terms of the deal are not yet known. McArdle had 26 points and 106 penalty minutes in 54 AHL games last season. He also had no points and 16 penalty minutes in 11 contests with the Florida Panthers.
