James Loney - 1B - Los Angeles Dodgers

James Loney said he acted strange following his November car accident because he suffered a blow to the head.

Loney sideswiped two cars and passed out with his car parked in the fast lane, and when he came to, he tried to the flee the scene by cutting across four lanes and wound up hitting another car. Police officers said the first baseman was acting oddly after being pulled over, even spitting the mouthpiece of the breathalyzer back at them. But, a blood test came back negative for drugs and alcohol and he was never charged with a crime. Loney says he couldn't remember anything immediately after he hit his head, but he did remember when the cops came. He's presumably fine now and will look to carry over his late-season hitting from last year, when he batted .388 with seven homers over the final 35 games.

Andrew Sisco - R - Los Angeles Dodgers

Dodgers signed LHP Andrew Sisco to a minor league contract.

Sisco, a former top prospect with the Cubs, split last season between the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate and the Mexican League. The 29-year-old southpaw hasn't pitched in the majors since 2007 as a member of the White Sox and is likely to serve as organizational depth.

Clayton Kershaw - S - Los Angeles Dodgers

Dodgers and LHP Clayton Kershaw avoided arbitration by agreeing to a two-year, $19 million contract.

The deal will cover his first two seasons of arbitration. According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, Kershaw receives a $500,000 signing bonus and will make $7.5 million in 2012 and $11 million in 2013. Tony Jackson of ESPN Los Angeles reports that $2 million of his salary for 2012 is deferred until January of 2013. Kershaw requested $10 million (tying a record for a first-time arbitration-eligible player) and was offered $6.5 million by the Dodgers when arbitration figures were exchanged last month, so both sides gave a little in order to get a multi-year deal done. The 2011 National League Cy Young winner remains under team control though 2014.

Jamey Wright - R - Los Angeles Dodgers

Dodgers signed RHP Jamey Wright to a minor league contract.

The agreement comes with an invitation to major league spring training, where Wright will attempt to land a spot in the Dodgers' Opening Day bullpen. He registered a decent 3.16 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 48/30 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings of relief last season for the Mariners.

Russell Mitchell - 3B - Los Angeles Dodgers

Dodgers designated INF Russell Mitchell for assignment.

The move presumably clears a spot for reliever Todd Coffey on the team's 40-man roster. Mitchell, who turns 27 later this month, batted .157/.259/.294 with two home runs and three RBI over 58 plate appearances with the Dodgers last season before undergoing wrist surgery in September. There's a chance he'll sneak through waivers unclaimed.

Hong-Chih Kuo - R - Los Angeles Dodgers

Hong-Chi Kuo's agent, Alan Chang, says Kuo is close to a decision, and Jayson Stark's sources say he's likely headed to the Mariners.

The oft-injured left-hander was non-tendered by the Dodgers last month, but he's a nice lottery ticket purchase by the Mariners. He posted a 9.00 ERA and 36/26 K/BB ratio over 27 innings this past season but is just one year removed from being one of the most dominant relievers in the game. Kuo is no sure bet to bounce back, of course. He's had five elbow operations, two Tommy John surgeries, and missed significant time with an anxiety disorder over the course of his career.

Hong-Chih Kuo - R - Los Angeles Dodgers

The Mariners are one of three West Coast teams "looking closely" at free agent reliever Hong-Chih Kuo.

Kuo was non-tendered by the Dodgers earlier this offseason and may only require a minor league deal after being one of the most dominant relievers in the game in 2010. In his seven-year MLB career, he's had five elbow operations, two Tommy John surgeries, and missed significant time with an anxiety disorder.
