Report: Marlins in 'serious talks' for Bell
Heath Bell - R - San Diego Padres
July 30, 2009 - 12:25 PM ET
SI.com's Jon Heyman reports the Marlins are in "serious talks" with the Padres about right-handed closer Heath Bell.

Heyman suggests the Fish would have to surrender either Andrew Miller or Sean West to make the deal happen. That's a high price, but the Marlins have been hurting for a legitimate closer since Matt Lindstrom suffered an elbow strain in late June. Bell is 25-for-26 in save opportunities this season. The Yankees are also thought to have some level of interest.
